How Is Cleaning Priced? What Affects the Cost of Home & Post-Renovation Cleaning

Many people searching for “home cleaning prices” or “post-renovation cleaning prices” just want a rough budget. There's no single fixed price for cleaning, mainly because every unit's actual condition is different. Here's what affects the quote.

Unit size and layout

The larger the unit and the more rooms it has, the more manpower and time are needed, so the price naturally goes up. An open-plan unit and a heavily partitioned unit of the same size can also take different amounts of time to clean.

Scope: basic cleaning or deep cleaning

Basic full-home cleaning (floors, toilet, kitchen surfaces — everyday cleaning) and full 360° deep cleaning (including walls, window tracks, under furniture) differ a lot in steps and time required, so the price differs noticeably too.

How much grime or renovation residue there is

Post-renovation cleaning costs are affected by how much dust, paint residue, and floor adhesive residue there is — the more stubborn the grime, the more steps and time it takes. The same logic applies to units that haven't been cleaned in a long time.

Floor access and how far the location is

Certain situations (e.g. an old building with no lift, or a more remote location) can affect scheduling and may add extra charges — it helps to state your address upfront for an accurate quote.

Hourly cleaning and one-off cleaning are priced differently

Hourly cleaning is charged by the hour, suited to ongoing maintenance; one-off services like post-renovation or move-out cleaning are usually quoted by unit size and scope. See our guide “Hourly vs. Full-Home Cleaning” to work out which fits you.

How do you get an accurate quote?

Because so many factors are involved, an accurate quote needs to know your unit size, layout, cleaning scope, and roughly how dirty it is. The fastest way is to use our self-serve quote tool — you'll get a quote specific to your unit, not a vague price range.
