Cleaning
Red paint cleaning: send photos for assessment first
Having red paint on your door, walls, corridor or floor is very upsetting. The method depends on the type of paint and the surface it's on; the wrong method can spread the stain or damage the original surface. Shane Services assesses from your photos, then arranges the clean-up.

What to do first
We suggest taking clear photos as a record and, where appropriate, informing the management office or relevant parties. Before assessment, we don't recommend scrubbing hard or using strong solvents yourself, as this can push the paint in or spread it.
Commonly affected areas
Metal gates, wooden doors, painted walls, tiles, stone floors, corridor floors and the area around doorways. Each surface needs a different method; porous materials absorb paint more easily and take longer.
How it works
From photos or a site visit we assess the type of paint (water- or oil-based), how dry it is and the surface material, then choose suitable cleaners and tools, starting with a small test and working step by step.
Limits
If the paint has soaked into a porous material, or the existing paint is fragile, cleaning may affect the original surface and it may even need repainting. We explain what might happen when we assess.
What affects the quote
The affected area, the material, how long the paint has dried, the height, whether ladders are needed, the time of the work, and whether repainting is needed.
FAQ
Can red paint be completely removed?▾
It depends on the type of paint, how long it has dried and the surface. Smooth surfaces are usually easier; porous or aged surfaces may keep some marks.
Can I clean it myself first?▾
We don't recommend scrubbing hard or using strong solvents first. It's safer to photograph it, then assess the method.
Will it need repainting afterwards?▾
If the original paint is damaged or some colour remains, repainting may be needed. We can assess this case by case.
Can the work be booked for a specific time?▾
This can be arranged case by case; we'll explain the arrangements before starting.
What should I provide before quoting?▾
Close-up and wide photos of the affected area, the material, the size and roughly when it happened all help us assess.
