Cleaning
Floor scrubbing for built-up dirt, shoe marks and old grime
Over time floors collect dirt, turn dark and pick up shoe marks and oil stains that ordinary mopping can't shift. We choose tools and cleaners to suit the floor material, scrub, then vacuum up the dirty water, bringing the floor back to a cleaner state. It's also the base step before waxing or wax stripping.

Where it's used
Shops, offices, industrial units, the area around restaurant back kitchens, parking spaces, corridors and back stairs, as well as home tiles, stone and vinyl floors. Different materials need different methods, so it's best to send floor photos before quoting.
How it works
We usually clear clutter and dust first, pre-treat depending on the dirt, scrub with suitable tools, then vacuum up the dirty water and let the floor air-dry. Allow access and drying time during the work.
Notes for different floors
Wooden floors, laminate and some carpets don't like water and aren't suitable for heavy wet scrubbing. Marble and similar stone is sensitive to acidic cleaners, so the wrong product must be avoided. We assess the material on site; areas not suitable for machine scrubbing get another method, or we explain the limits first.
How it's priced
A floor scrubber can be added to hourly cleaning, including delivery and collection, priced as in the quote table below; labour is charged at hourly cleaning rates. The scrubber suits large-area scrubbing or wax stripping; small areas usually don't need it. For same-day or evening jobs, the labour part has the usual cleaning surcharge.
How it relates to waxing and stripping
Scrubbing mainly removes surface dirt. If the old wax is dark or peeling, it needs stripping first; after cleaning, if you want more protection, we decide whether to wax based on the floor type.
FAQ
How is floor scrubbing different from mopping?▾
Mopping mainly deals with surface dust and light dirt; scrubbing uses a machine or special tools and vacuums up the dirty water, working better on built-up dirt, shoe marks and oil stains.
Can every floor be machine-scrubbed?▾
No. Wooden floors, laminate, some carpets and aged floors need assessing first to avoid too much water or surface damage.
How soon can we walk on the floor afterwards?▾
It depends on humidity, ventilation and the floor material. Normal use should wait until the floor is dry.
Does the floor need waxing after scrubbing?▾
Not necessarily. Commercial floors such as vinyl can be waxed depending on use; home tiles and stone usually don't need it.
Can you work at night or on holidays?▾
This can be arranged case by case, which especially suits shops and offices that want to minimise disruption.
